What to Expect During Our Service

When you join us for worship at Glenview Church of Christ, you’ll experience a service rooted in simplicity, reverence, and a focus on biblical teachings. Our worship is designed to be a time of reflection, praise, and connection with God.

Acapella Singing

One of the unique aspects of our service is our acapella singing. We believe in worshipping God through the beauty of the human voice alone. Our congregation sings together without instrumental accompaniment, creating a harmonious and uplifting atmosphere. The songs are a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary spiritual songs, all led by members of the congregation. Whether you’re a seasoned singer or new to acapella worship, you’re welcome to join in or simply listen and reflect.

Prayer and Scripture Reading

Prayer is central to our service, offering us a chance to commune with God and seek His guidance. We engage in several prayers throughout the service, led by different members of our congregation. In addition, we have readings from the Bible that help guide our thoughts and focus our hearts on God's Word.

The Lord's Supper

Each Sunday, we partake in the Lord’s Supper, also known as Communion. This is a sacred time where we remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ through the sharing of bread and the fruit of the vine. All baptized believers are welcome to participate in this observance.

Sermon

Our minister or guest speaker will deliver a sermon based on Scripture. The message is intended to be both encouraging and challenging, helping us to grow in our understanding of God’s Word and how to apply it to our daily lives. We believe in the importance of sound biblical teaching and aim to present the Gospel in a way that is relevant and accessible.

Invitation

At the end of the sermon, an invitation is extended to anyone who may wish to respond to the message, seek prayers, or express interest in baptism. This is a time for reflection and decision, open to all.

Our service concludes with a final prayer and a closing song, sending us out with a sense of peace and purpose as we continue our walk with Christ throughout the week.
